As promised pictures of my gardens in July. Please note, very image heavy.
July garden pics
In other news, I killed between 20 and thirty Jpanese beetles yesterday. A lot of them, I picked up in my hand and tossed in bucket of soapy water. Can I say yuck.
Also, part of my Agastache got broken off - snapped right at the stem. I'm suspecting a deer walked on it.
Next year, I need to remember to stake the Phlox and the Hollyhock. The rain made them lean right over. Also, plant columbine near the mailbox pole, the heat seems to have fried some of them. Also Snaps need to be planted on the curb side of the asters. I always forget how big that plant gets.

I'll be sending part two of my rambling thoughts later today.

And have a bug-squashing party tonight!
We'll kill those Japanese beetles in their shiny green armor
If they don't get away in flight,
They're lovin' each other all over my bushes
Completely unaware of their plight, so
Come on down, let's go out
And have a bug-squashing party tonight!"

My pincushion flower does bloom all year 'round, although it goes in fits and starts. I have a lavendar colored one, too. I've seen wine-colored ones in catalogs that look amazing.

Do you also have Japanese beetle invaders?

I have some nice pictures of my hollyhocks from May -- I'll try to round them up and post them. I cut them all down about three weeks ago and scattered the seed and new little sprouts are coming up already!
